For best results, grease the inside of a mixing bowl or proofing bowl (also known as a banneton bowl) and the design side of the embosser. Place the embosser insert inside the bottom of the bowl, design side facing up, and dust the bowl and embosser surfaces lightly with flour to prevent dough from sticking. Set dough on top of the embosser, cover bowl with a clean towel or cloth, and allow the dough to rise (also called proofing or proving). Once dough has risen, carefully turn the bowl over onto a prepared baking sheet to remove the dough. Remove the embosser from on top of the raised dough, then bake bread according to the recipe.
